Located in a 19th-century building, this 24 sqm studio had not been renovated since the 1980s. The project offers a contemporary reinterpretation that highlights the apartment’s original charm while incorporating a functional and aesthetically pleasing layout.
The renovation is built around a play of partitions with varying heights, subtly defining functional areas—such as the dressing room, bathroom, and shower—without fully enclosing them. These sculptural elements, paired with polished concrete, nod to the owner’s Mediterranean roots, bringing an organic flow to the space in contrast with the building’s historic architecture.
The design draws inspiration from a “country home in Paris” style, blending authenticity with elegance. The original beams have been preserved, visually structuring the space and evoking the historic charm of the apartment. Natural stone flooring adds a timeless touch reminiscent of French country houses, while walnut wood—used in furniture and details like handles—adds warmth and refinement.
The apartment enjoys a stunning view over a lush garden, which becomes a central feature of the interior design. Large windows let in soft natural light, while the use of mirrors and natural materials throughout the space extends this sense of harmony with the surrounding nature.
